Microsoft Innovation Center trainings

Training program

Since the beginning, the users education was one of the Microsoft Innovation Center most important activities. After a preparation period, in 2007 the training program started. During the first two years it was mainly focused on IT security. In 2009 MIC extends its training program with interoperability. Besides that we will prepare at least one security workshop. All trainings are free and only require a simple registration. For now, all trainings are assumed to be held in Polish only.

Applying Silverlight technology to present streaming media in Web applications for diverse system platforms This training is organized within the confines of our Interoperability task. The aim of this training is to present how to create Web applications serving multimedia in different systems and program environment. During the training the basics of technology and practical implementation of an application, which presents multimedia stream from streaming server, will be presented. Windows Server 2008 as a universal virtualization and clustering platform This training is organized within the confines of our Interoperability task. The training is organized within the confines of our interoperability task. On this training the tools available on Windows Server 2008 (like Hyper-V) allowing service clustering, high availability and virtualization of diverse operating systems (also Linux) will be presented. 18 June 2009, 10:00 AM (Poznań) Bypassing firewalls in Windows systems - Bring Your Own Laptop workshop BYOL workshops are organized within the confines of the security training program of Microsoft Innovation Center. It will be the second part of the highly acclaimed training from 18th December 2008. Security of a heterogeneous hosting platform This training is organized within the confines of our Interoperability task. The training organized within the confines of our interoperability task. The representatives of PSNC Security Team will show how to install, configure and secure Microsoft IIS, a database server and the PHP interpreter running on Microsoft Windows. Web application code security will be discussed. Using PHP as ASP.NET replacement will be evaluated in the context of IT security. Gwiazdka Gwiazdka

The program organization may be affected by the opinion of the participants of our trainings, expressed in polls conducted during our consecutive lectures.

Information on consecutive trainings will be published in advance on the main Microsoft Innovation Center Web page as well as in the calendar of training events of PSNC Supercomputing Department. The latter location presents information on every trainings prepared by the department; registration forms may be found there as well. It will also be possible to inform interested users about incoming trainings via e-mail.

  • The users on different levels of technical skills will be offered free-of-charge access to useful knowledge,
  • A general level of knowledge and awareness of computer and network security will be significantly increased.
